Mount San Pedro

Image

To disconnect from the world and breathe in the scent of the Atlantic, we have a little secret in A Coruña: Mount San Pedro Park, the ideal place to relax and enjoy the open air in every way you can imagine.

This park was formerly a military base, and in 1999 it was renovated for the enjoyment of residents and tourists. It has more than 90,000 square metres in which you can enjoy all kinds of hobbies. You can do anything from flying a kite to lying on the grass and watching the sunset. It also has a great tourist attraction: two Vickers cannons more than 17 metres tall that were acquired in 1929 and installed in 1933.

One of the main attractions of Mount San Pedro Park are its inspiring views. In one direction, you can see the Atlantic Ocean and coastline as far as Arteixo and the Sisargas Islands. And in the other direction, in the foreground, the city, the Costa Ártabra and the Ría de A Coruña, where we you can see Mera, Santa Cruz and the coast of Oleiros, and farther away, the Ría de Betanzos, the Ría de Ares, the Ría de Ferrol and the coast up to the city of Ferrol's outer harbour. You'll have to look at the map to tell just how far your eyes can see!

Panoramic lift

Panoramic lift

Reaching Mount San Pedro can be a more spectacular experience than you might imagine. In addition to the usual approach on foot or by road, a spectacular Panoramic Lift, like a giant glass ball, allows you to go up and down from the Seaside Promenade to the top of Mount San Pedro with stunning views of the A Coruña's bay.

Once at the top, you will also find the only 360° indoor lookout point in all of Spain: the Cúpula Atlántica.

Both the lift and the dome are temporarily closed. This last one for maintenance.

Opening hours of the Visitor Centre in the park:

Winter: from 10:00 to 19:30 on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and the eve of public holidays.

Summer: from 15th of June to 15th of September, from 10:00 to 19:30 from Monday to Sunday.

Michelin Star views

At the top of Mount San Pedro, boasting stunning views, stands the Michelin Star restaurant Árbore da Veira, in a spectacular gastronomic space also shared with the more informal Taberna 5 Mares.
