A Coruña embraces the Spring with the Encuentro Mundial de Humorismo as its main dish

Silvia Abril, Juan Herrera, Eva Hache, Henar Álvarez or Galder Varas will gather this month in the crystal city

A Coruña receives April with gastronomy and humour as the main dishes of the Spring. The Galicia Fórum Gastronómico ('Galicia Gastronomic Forum'), the Encuentro Mundial de Humorismo (EMHU or 'Worldwide Humour Meeting') and concerts of international artists such as Los Tigres del Norte or Sergio Dalma give a proper sample of the culture of living of the city, which, once again, consolidates itself as one of the Spanish metropolis with more cultural projection this month.

On a culinary note, one of the highlights is the Galicia Fórum Gastronómico. This event is an essential to industry professionals, it will take place at EXPOCoruña from the 7th to the 9th of April and will again establish the city as a reference of the Atlantic cuisine on a national level.

The best comedians of the country will gather in A Coruña

Renown figures from the humour and communication industries such as Silvia Abril, Antonio Resines, Juan Herrera, Eva Hache, Carolina Iglesias, Luis Piedrahita, Henar Álvarez, Galder Varas or Leo Harlem, among others, will visit the city of A Coruña this month as part of the Encuentro Mundial de Humorismo.

The fourth edition of one of the major humour events of our country will be held form April 25th to May 5th in multiple locations of the city such as the Coliseum, PALEXCO, the Colón theatre, the Opera House, the Afundación site and the Santos Ochoa library.

Los Tigres del Norte, Sergio Dalma or Pablo López in concert

A Coruña continues to establish itself as the perfect city to host major musical events. Proof of this are some of the concerts programmed for this April in its different venues.

The Northern music of Los Tigres del Norte will take over the Coliseum on Friday the 5th. The performance of the iconic Mexican group, winner of multiple Grammy and Grammy Latino awards, will be the first of wide concerts such as those by Pablo López (the 6th), Sergio Dalma (the 20th) or Mikel Izal (the 21st) at the Opera House. ABHIR, Hard GZ or Xabier Díaz & Adufeiras de Salitre complete the musical programming for the following weeks.

And, of course, opportunities to enjoy the Galician Symphony Orchestra at the Opera House won't be missed either. Dima Slobodeniuouk, Claire Booth or Juan Ferrer are some of the musicians who will offer their talent to the city.

A last goodbye to Helmut Newton

On May 1st, A Coruña will say goodbye to the exhibition Helmut Newton - Fact&Fiction, an artistic initiative around the life and work of someone considered to be one of the greatest photographers of the world. The sample took off at the Battery Dock of A Coruña this past November thanks to the Marta Ortega Pérez Foundation (MOP Foundation).

The selection of photographs shown to the public includes the iconic "big nudes" and the unforgettable portraits of exceptional figures such as Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent, Andy Warhol, Elsa Peretti, David Bowie, Daryl Hannah, Jerry Hall or Naomi Campbell.

With this exhibition, the city strengthens itself as a reference when it comes to housing international-level art showings, capable of presently congregating models, photographers, figures of the show business or even important politicians at the MOP centre.
