The mayoress came to Palexco this morning to visit the places and spaces where the activities of the fair take place
The mayoress of A Coruña, Inés Rey, came to Palexco this morning to enjoy the fair of WOMEX, which today begins its second day with 250 stands and numerous conferences for music professionals. "It is a pride for our city to be able to receive an event of such magnitude as it is WOMEX, where thousands of people share not only their ideas or professional projects related to music, but they also bring light to their personalities and experiences that, in short, are those that enrich our cultural life".
The mayoress, who was accompanied by Gonzalo Castro, councillor of the area of Development and Promotion of the City, could experience first hand the multicultural atmosphere that reigns this week in the city, showing that A Coruña remains at the forefront of the metropolis preferred by many professionals and tourists that aim to enjoy the culture and the worldwide known events such as WOMEX, that gathers around 5.000 people.
"Receiving big events like WOMEX are an inducement for this government to continue promoting, yearning awareness and supporting the culture in all its fields. Of course, the economic return for the city is remarkable, but this brings other benefits such as conceiving A Coruña like the perfect place to celebrate congresses or worthy spectacles of the big European cities", underlined Inés Rey.
