Professionals of the sector of the music share these days his work in the more than 250 stands located in Palexco
This week, A Coruña is a meeting point for thousands of people interested in music to a professional and personal level thanks to WOMEX, the most diverse and global musical event around culture and music. This first day, thousands of people from 90 countries are based at the more than 250 stands located in Palexco to discover the different forms of promotion and conservation of styles and musical genres of countries like Slovakia, Colombia, Venezuela, Syria, France, Portugal, Denmark, Italy, Lebanon, Spain, Turkey or Poland, among others.
WOMEX becomes the perfect place to establish contacts for music professionals thanks to its myriad of conferences, meetings or exhibitions. A global event to create a network of support to the diverse and heterogeneous culture that forms part of the identity of each country. The councillor of the Area of Encouragement and Promotion of the City, Gonzalo Castro, supervised this morning the development of the fair and highlighted that "the Government of Inés Rey is doing a big bet by the organisation of big cultural events in the city, that leave an important return".
The activities that stand out from today include: a session on the importance of cooperation for a sustainable artistic circulation (15:00 hours), a presentation associated to the current musical Chinese industry (15:45 hours) and a networking session of Women of the World (16:45 hours).
WOMEX, an open event to the world
WOMEX is an indispensable appointment for artists or companies of the sector of musical production, but is also a space shared by a lot of people that truly have interest in opening their minds to the world and to the different music throughout it.
The Opera Palace, The Parrote, the Colón Theatre, the Rosalía de Castro Theatre, the Sala Pelícano, the Playa Club and the film library of Galicia receive performances from today, performances that celebrate national and international artists and will surely cause an impression.
Innovation and artificial intelligence in the musical industry, protagonists this Friday 27
Tomorrow there will be a new round of conferences, with highlights such as one on creating a market that is based on the innovation of Caribbean music genres (10:00 hours), one on the exploration of the native languages (11:00) or a round table on mentoring (11:45 hours).
In the afternoon, attendees have the opportunity of assisting a conference on artificial intelligence in the musical industry (16:30 hours) or the one session of educational networking (16:45 hours).
