The history of this theatre dates back to the 1940s, when the show businessman Enrique Rey Romero advocated for the creation of a theatre with good capacity and comfort to host shows and film projections. Architect Jacobo Rodríguez-Losada Trulock gave the design a classicist look.
It was reopened to the public in 2006 following refurbishment. Colón Theatre is the venue for the most important theatrical and musical productions that pass through A Coruña, with an extensive and well-rounded cultural programme.
