In Spain, Father's Day is always on 19 March, although it isn't a public holiday in every region. That's why we've put together five ideas for things you can do throughout the month.
A BIKE RIDE
A Coruña is the perfect city for cycling, thanks to its more than 50 km of cycle paths. Cycle along Avenida de La Marina to San Antón Castle, from the DOMUS to Riazor, or from the Millennium Monument to the Window to the Atlantic. You'll discover some of the city's most beautiful spots from a different perspective.
WATCHING THE SUNSET AT THE VENTANA AL ATLÁNTICO
Now that the days are longer, we invite you to the Ventana al Atlántico to witness one of the city's most magical sunsets.
You can reach the monument on foot, by bike or by car.
GO TO THE THEATRE OR A CONCERT
The city's cultural programme is always extensive and impressive. In terms of theatre, highlights include the Spanish premiere of Piaf! The Show at the Colón Theatre on Wednesday 18th; or the closing of the exhibition A Coruña. Arte y textura by Raúl Velloso at Afundación.
As for music, the GAOS Orchestra will perform a programme dedicated to Rossini at the Colón on Father's Day itself, although if you're more into a different style, you can enjoy the 13th edition of the 981 United Festival at the Coliseum on Saturday 21st.

CLIMBING MONTE DE SAN PEDRO
The city's premier viewpoint, which you can access free of charge. The views surrounding the famous Monte de San Pedro park stretch from the Tower of Hercules and part of A Coruña to the Costa Ártabra, though it is also easy to catch a glimpse of the coastline as far as Arteixo and even the Illas Sisargas, which belong to Malpica de Bergantiños.
Whether you fancy a leisurely stroll, a picnic or simply want to relax, this viewpoint is the perfect place to visit any day of the week.

EXPLORE THE SCULPTURE PARK AT THE TOWER OF HERCULES
Climbing the Tower of Hercules is a spectacular experience, but we also recommend exploring its Sculpture Park and all the features it contains.

Spring is for those who wait
The days grow longer and the nights shorter. It's time of changes in the parks and avenues, which leave behind their winter bareness to dress themselves in the colourful flowers of spring. And A Coruña, constantly moving, is also transformed.
The wait, here, is always worth it. The spring sunset, surely one of the most beautiful on the peninsula, begins to appear over the Atlantic. After an intense winter filled with cultural activity, the city that never sleeps feels the arrival of spring as a new awakening. Concerts, gastronomic events, theatre cycles and many exhibitions fill the now greener heart of the city of Hercules with vitality.
