
A Coruña is known for its Antroido (Carnival) choqueiro, which features improvised, extravagant, and satirical costumes. This tradition, which originated in the Monte Alto neighborhood, spread throughout the city and became a local hallmark of this celebration.
But beware, there are also parades in the city where the effort and creativity put in throughout the year dazzle locals and tourists alike with spectacular costumes full of color, joy, and symbolism.

Saturday 7. Music and lyrics contest for dance troupes. Presented by David Amor.
Where? At the Opera House at 6:00 p.m.
Friday 13. Enthronement of the God Momo.
Where? At the Atalaya de San Roque - Campo da Leña at 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 14. Costume, choreography, and originality contest for dance troupes. Float contest.
The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Juana de Vega, passing through Mina square and Cantones until reaching María Pita.
Tuesday 17th. One of the big days of our carnival. This day will feature different activities concentrated in the same area:
* 'Andar do Antroido' dedicated to the Kilomberos de Monte Alto.
Where? On La Torre street from 2:30 p.m.
* Children's and family choqueiros/as competitions
Where? At Campo da Leña from 5:00 p.m.
* Choqueiros contest
Where? On La Torre street starting at 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 18. Parade of the Burial of the Sardine and Antroido to San Amaro Beach. Followed by the Dethronement of the God Momo.
The route will begin at the Circo de Artesáns at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday 21. Antroido Pequeno (Little Carnival)
The party will take place on La Torre-San Juan streets, Campo da Leña, Humor square, La Marina avenue, and the Old Town from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

This is one of the most important culinary events in our city.
A total of 33 establishments will offer special menus featuring pork shoulder with turnip greens from February 6 to March 8 for the eleventh edition of 'Lacónicas, las Jornadas del Lacón con Grelos' (pork shoulder with turnip greens Festival).
Each menu will consist of a starter (soup or similar), a main course (laconada) and a classic dessert (filloas and/or orejas), as well as a drink and coffee (optional).
If you want to enjoy one of the star dishes of Galician cuisine, take advantage and visit one of the restaurants participating in this edition.
